Speaker Biography
Dr. Mehvash Ali Director, Academic Support Center
American University of Sharjah
Dr. Mehvash Ali is the Director of Academic Support Center (ASC) and First Year Experience (FYE) at American University of Sharjah (AUS). Dr. Ali is a board member and a consultant/speaker with NACADA, the Global Community for Academic Advising. She is currently serving as Chair of the Global Initiatives Committee at NACADA and leading the efforts to create an International Visiting Advisor Program. She has been a member of the Inclusion and Engagement Committee and has held the International Perspectives seat on the Professional Development Committee in NACADA from 2015-2017 and helped develop the NACADA Advising Core Competencies in that role. She delivered many presentations on academic advising and student’s success in USA, UK and Gulf Countries
